The 7-part differential further divides neutrophils into immature (NST), segmented (NSG), and hybersegment(NSH) types, in addition to lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils, and basophils. This allows earlier and more accurate detection of infections, inflammation, and bone marrow abnormalities.
